In 2022, the UK HMRC Financial Crime Officers at the British Embassy in Skopje partnered with Cognitas Global to design and deliver a specialised financial investigation training program. This initiative, funded by the UK Government, aimed to build investigative capabilities for 27 professionals from the Public Prosecutor’s Office and three Macedonian law enforcement agencies. The program needed to provide academic accreditation, establish a structured professional development pathway, and include a dedicated leadership course for senior officials.

Expert-led instruction was delivered through four intensive ten-day modules for financial investigators and a specialised five-day leadership module for senior leaders. Between 2023 and 2024, all 27 participants successfully achieved SFJ accreditations. The initiative was widely recognised as a significant step in strengthening Macedonia’s financial crime investigation capabilities, equipping professionals with the skills and knowledge needed to tackle complex financial crimes effectively.

Through this strategic training program, Cognitas Global and its partners have contributed to a more resilient and skilled financial investigation framework in Macedonia, reinforcing the country’s efforts to combat financial crime.
